Super typhoon yolanda (a.k.a haiyan) has been named one of the strongest recorded storms in world history causing the displacement of millions of people. Few weeks earlier, the visayas region, particularly in the island of Bohol was struck with a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake, causing heavy damage to properties and even some of the famous century-old structures. Foundation 4Life divided the donation between Feed The Children and the local 4Life office to support on-the-ground efforts and immediate needs. 4Life distributors also helped by bringing in cash and in-kind donations while some also volunteered to pack these goods for the victims of the recent calamities.
Feed The Children is using $20,000 USD to set up mobile kitchens across the provinces of Cebu, Leyte, Samar, Iloilo, and Capiz, and $10,000 USD was sent to the local 4Life office to prepare several hundred relief kits. Foundation 4Life remains in close communication with the 4Life Philippines office in Manila to assess ongoing needs.
